“New On-line library for American River Watershed”
Auburn, CA –A collaborative effort has begun between stakeholders in the American River watershed and adjacent watersheds to provide watershed information on an on-line web portal. This portal will centralize and simplify the process of accessing information and keeping track of activities. You can begin benefiting from and contributing to this valuable interactive web site by visiting http://www.americanriverwatershed.net
The Placer County Resource Conservation District, El Dorado/Georgetown Resource Conservation Districts, El Dorado Irrigation District, El Dorado County Water Agency, as well as the American River Watershed Group, and the South Fork American River Watershed Group have already recognized the value of this project and are providing support the project. Other supporters are being added daily. This effort is a step towards coordinating efforts and expanding the stakeholder groups that are active in the American River Watershed.
This portal is designed to:
encourage collaboration between government agencies, irrigation districts, agricultural groups, recreationalists, private land owners and other stakeholders;
provide valuable watershed information on water quality, water supply, forest management and restoration to interested parties;
educate the public on watershed issues, stewardship strategies, and other activities within the watershed; and
facilitate implementation of watershed projects.
